These areas are usually difficult to navigate and these mobs attack relentlessly but what if you could. Floating Islands and Living Trees are a couple of the more well-known treasure rooms you will have likely encountered in your game. Being near even one placed Snow Block has a rare chance to cause a periodic snowflake. There are eight naturally-occurring mini-biomes and two that can only be artificially created: the Town and the Graveyard. The Snow biome is a winter-themed biome predominately made of Snow and Ice Blocks. It extends Underground and transitions to the Ice biome in the Cavern layer. Trees within snow biomes have a snowy cover on them, and they yield boreal wood, instead of ordinary wood. The Dungeon holds a single Ice Chest, which is unlocked with a Frozen Key, obtainable from the Snow biome at any time, but is only usable after Plantera is defeated. During rain, a snow biome displays a blizzard instead, where snowfall increases and unique enemies spawn. Hallow: At least 100 Hallow themed blocks are needed to create the biome. Snow biome is essentially a next step in progression after Forest/Underground/Caverns.
